In a more abstract level I view your petition as a petition for an approval from the “man”.
What you are doing is a journey after the ultimate approval from the universal man.
When we were young the source of approval and legitimacy for a woman was the man/father,
in other words the feeling is that I can only exist through the eyes of a man. In some ways,
unfortunately, we still feel that the approving gaze is the male gaze.
In order to gain such an approval one must use the tools of a woman, like in your case – fertility.
We may still feel that a woman is tested first and foremost on her feminine functions:
as a sex-object, a “mother and sister”, (or nurse) and as a homemaker.
